1. What made you decide to try making discs? - "Was there a space in the disc market that you felt was missing? - We had developed a flight path simulator that can predict disc flight based on 3D drawings out of interest. We felt like this gave us an opportunity to approach disc design in a completely new way - both in terms of having an efficient and more scientific development phase, as well as having a unique source of inspiration."

2. With the Hydrogen putter, did the design process start with a desired flight path? or did it start with the shape of the disc? - "The flight path for sure. The initial thought was; the purpose of a putter is to fly straight all the way into the basket. Faster putters - even the understable ones - act overstable on short distances (in low winds at least), which force you to compensate instead of just going straight at the basket. From there the challenge was to make the disc slow without making it too tall or boxy. The fact that it works so well as a throwing putter was actually a secondary feature at first, but it seems that that is it’s most utilized feature now."

3. What was the design that sparked the design of the Bohrium? - "I actually think that it was while designing Hydrogen we noticed the impact that the bottom rim radius has on air resistance (drag). We considered making other, more conventional discs first, but we had to explore this discovery - and we are really happy we did, because we ended up with an extremely fast disc! It took a bunch of different designs before we dialed the rim and the stability in, though!"

4. I think the next question has to be if there is a Midrange in the works? - "We are working on basically all types of discs, but we aren’t ready to announce anything specific yet 🤫"

5. What do you believe sets Loft Discs apart from other manufacturers? - "Our design process with utilizing computer simulations is the obvious answer. It gives us a deeper understanding of the small design details, which is an endless source of inspiration. But we also try to communicate all the thoughts behind our designs out to our followers, and we plan to keep on doing so when we make releases without Kickstarter, so I think this is also something quite unique to our company. We want to be personally engaged and open about our process, so we have big plans for our YouTube channel!"
