Dynamic Discs Culprit

For the longest time the Westside Harp was THE shortrange approach disc from the Trilogy lineup. The Harp however didn't resound with everyone. It has a deeper more blunt feel in hand and because of that wasn't some players go-to disc for forehand upshots. Enter the Culprit, the first disc in the Trilogy lineup to truly rival the Discraft Zone. The Culprit has a much shallower feel in hand compared to the Harp and feels much more similar to the Zone, in fact it's the closest in feel of all the approach discs we've felt. The top of the discs we have here have no dome at all to them, if anything they're slightly puddle topped and they just feel so good in a forehand grip. They also have a sharper edge profile than the Harp/Sockibomb slammer. This is admittedly the disc we've been most excited to try from the trilogy lineup.

The flight of the Culprit is exactly what you'd hope for from an overstable approach disc. (The discs we have for testing are in a stiff baseline plastic so we were able to compare it to other approach discs we have in baseline plastic, which tend to start out nearly as stable as their premium counterparts but tend to beat in quickly) The Culprit is delightfully stable and has yet to fail us even in a headwind. If thrown hard and flat it will push fairly straight for a little bit before steadily fading to finds it's mark. We threw some mild to moderate anhyzers and it always fought out to fade by the end of it's flight. It's lack of glide and reliable fade makes it super intuitive to control distance with this disc. Being fairly low profile with a nicely rounded lower edge the release has been fantastic, never feeling like its catching. We've seen it mentioned before but one of our favorite shots with this is short anhyzer flicks. It pans so reliably to flat and the baseline plastic means that it stays exactly where it lands.

We think this disc is up there with the absolute best approach discs and made one of our testers bags right away. The only other thing we could want out of the Culprit is a nice firm premium plastic to compliment a beat in baseline one. Hopefully one of their players decides to make it their tour series disc and it comes out in Lucid-X (and hopefully we'll get our hands on one if that happens and let y'all know how it flies too!).

We're also not done with approach disc reviews so keep an eye out!
