EV-7 Mobius

The Mobius from EV-7 is a straight to understable putter that offers very straight, predictable upshots, especially when combined with how grippy all of the plastic blends are. EV-7 is a putter only company that is focused on the "scoring discs", meaning that they'll only be making putting and upshot discs. This is the third putter in their lineup, the first being the Penrose, a deep, overstable, beaded putter that Drew Gibson has been using for the past couple of season to become one of the best putters on tour. The second is the Phi, which is a beadless putter with a profile most similar to a Luna, or Warden (albeit slightly deeper than both). And this Mobius is the third, with a very unique edge profile that feels much blockier in hand than other putters we've held. We have this putter in the Firm plastic which feels very solid in hand and has great consistent release. When thrown off the tee with a slight hyzer angle, it will flip to flat and push for a long time dead straight till it lands flat on the ground.

Our favorite shot with this disc however is throwing it hard and flat with some height and watching it turn over a little and glide for days to the right for it's entire flight without ever fighting back to fade. If you're a backhand dominant player or looking for that left to right shot that wont flare skip when it lands, this may be the perfect disc for you. It's also a great upshot disc. We know that a lot of players will tend to use their putting putters for upshots, but when we made a conscious effort to use this exclusively as our up shot disc we were pleasantly surprised. You can spin this out toward the basket and it will glide and push straight on the line you threw and land flat with little movement.

The most surprising part of using this disc as an upshot disc was seeing it not fade much at all even at such low throwing speeds. I'm sure there are discs that you can beat in for a few years to get to this point, but the fact that the Mobius can to it as a brand new disc is fantastic. One last thing to mention is that even in the Firm plastic this disc has a very grippy feel. We have discs in each of the different stiffness of plastics and the grip in hand is pretty consistent across the board. Obviously the Soft plastic will want to deform a touch more resulting in less ground play than the Firm, but none of their plastics feel slick. It's hard to think of discs that fly similar to this, the Gateway Magic being the closest that comes to mind though it's not as deep and doesn't glide quite as much but maybe feels better as a putting putter. With the feel of discs being such personal preference, it's worth your while to try this out, it may jus be one of your favorites like it has done for us!
