EV-7 Telos

The Telos is the 4th putter from EV-7 Disc Golf, and falls exactly in between their first 2 putters. We got a pair of these putters for a long term test, and quickly made the switch to them over the Phi.

Let's first talk about the shape and feel of the Telos. It's beadless, has a nice rounded top profile/nose, but has a pronounced ridge/transition to the underside of the rim (similar to the Penrose, but beadless). We've been using the Phi and really like it, but we've also heard from some people that didn't like it as much stating that it was too rounded and struggled to find a place to rest their index finger comfortably/consistently.

The Telos solves that perfectly by adding that ridge. It also follows along with the rest of the EV-7 lineup by being a fairly deep profile disc. They're deeper in hand than a Luna or Warden but not enough to make us dislike it, though people with smaller hands may struggle.

It really does sit right between the Penrose and the Phi, not only in shape but in flight as well. It's flight numbers are listed at 2|4|0|1.5 . When putting within 20 feet or so, most putters will act fairly similarly, but farther out is when you start to notice the difference. The grip of the plastic blends at EV-7 do such a great job at grabbing the chains. We've talked about the plastic blends before, but not matter how firm the of a plastic you chose, they all have a surprising amount of grip/tackiness to it. Out at the edge of the circle we noticed that this disc wants dump out a little more at the end of it's flight than the Phi, leading to less misses to the right. The Telos also flies awesome off the tee as well, it doesn't want to turn over at all even if you put decent power on it. It's flight is very straight, only really fading at the end of it's flight as it's losing speed. Because of the aforementioned grip of the plastic, it also tends to sit fairly quickly when it lands rather than skipping or sliding much. The plastics also seem to be plenty durable.

EV-7 has done such a good job with the Telos that even Drew Gibson made the switch to them this year from the Penrose.

No matter your stability preferences, EV-7 has a putter for you. They already had a great lineup with the Penrose and Phi, but the Telos fills the gap between them perfectly. The only other thing we'd like to see from EV-7 would be a nice premuim plastic for strictly tee shots (which seems to be on the way!) and maybe a shallower profile disc (for those smaller hands).

Overall though, these putters are great and you can't go wrong bagging a couple of them.
