The Upper Park Rebel is the largest bag in their product range, having been designed with touring-level capacity in mind. With room for 2 water bottles and more than 30+ discs, this bag is definitely one of the top choices for tournament play. The Rebel is also one of the lightest bags in that category weighing only around 3 pounds empty, but loaded that weight depends on how many discs you decide to carry.
The disc storage in the Rebel is unique in how there's two upper pouches mounted vertically on the back that can comfortably hold 2-3 discs each or more if you don't mind a tight fit, meaning that you have very quick access to the top discs without having to bend all the way over to the ground. The obvious choice for those top pockets would be your putting putters, and your most used approach discs. The orientation of those pockets and them being slightly fanned out also makes it very easy to see what may or may not be up there. The bottom storage is more in line with what you'd expect from a bag of this caliber, with room for around 18-20 discs and dividers to help keep things organized. The front opening also opens a lot lower than a lot of other bags in this category which allows for very easy quick access to the discs with no catching. If you're feeling frisky and want to carry even more, you can open up those two spacious side pockets and carry an extra few on each side. Which bring us to those pockets, and boy does this thing have plenty of pockets. Each large side pocket has smaller pockets on the outside for quick access items and sharpies, as well as multiple small pockets on the inside to carry and organize things like keys, wallet, pencils, etc. There's also pockets sewn into the sides of the main disc compartment, for things like score card or cell phone. and a perfectly placed mini disc pocket at the very top of the bag right under the grab handle.
The bag also has a large water bottle pouch on each side to ensure you have plenty of water for any tournament or round. That also leads us to one of our very few gripes about this bag, where those water bottle pockets can sometimes get in the way. The most obvious example of this is when you're carrying something tall in them, they tend to interact quite a bit with your arms and elbows when putting on or taking off the bag. That's obviously quickly remedied by carrying shorter items in those pockets, and after a while we nearly forgot about it, so it's something to note but definitely not a deal breaker.
The fit and finish of this bag is really impressive, with nice lightweight ripstop style fabric that is super durable and great looking. There are feet on the bottom of the bag, and the bottom is waterproof and durable to keep from wearing out too quickly and also helps things stay dry. There's a stretchy mesh pocket at the bottom front to tuck in the main compartment flap, and D-rings on each side to attach various items such as towels or dry-bags. The sides and bottom of the bag have thin, somewhat rigid structure panels to keep things open and upright, but we recommend trying to keep that bottom compartment fairly full to keep it as stable as possible.
The shoulder straps are thinly padded but still very comfortable and ample padding and ventilation on the back of the bag to keep things cool and comfortable. The bag comes with sternum straps if you really want to keep things in place, and they're easily removable if you'd rather not use them. There's also a rainfly that can be quickly put in place if you have to play some rainy tournament rounds but want to keep your discs dry.
This is definitely on of the best bags we've ever used and if you're looking for a high capacity bag that's super lightweight with unique storage, this might be your best option. Also, tons of top professionals use this bag as their daily touring bag and they also have discount codes that you can use to save some money on a new bag while supporting their tour efforts. So make sure you look for those for at least 10% off your next purchase. You can also find more info about this bag and all their other products on the Upper Park website, so go check that out!
